Announcement - New Author Site

-
I'm delighted to announce the release of my new author site:  https://www.chris-struble-writes.com I call the site  Ancient Roads . This is where I will be releasing my first  novel ,  Shield of the Goddess , as a web serial. A new first chapter and a song from the first chapter are already there. I will be adding more chapters and songs from the novel in the coming months.  If you were one of the early readers of SOTG, the new serial version of the novel will look quite different from the original. Each chapter will be small, and will be from the point of view of one character. I will post a  monthly newletter  there called  Wanderer's Tales  with a new  chapter  and  song  if any. I will also post other music and writings, along with musings about writing fiction, writing music, the crossroads where they meet. If you've followed or landed this site, please take a moment to check Ancient Roads and subscribe to get my upda...

Second draft is finished

-
This week I finished the second draft of my technical paper "Generator-based Testing: A State by State Approach". Two of my coworkers, Steven and Neelu, reviewed it and gave me helpful feedback, which I really appreciate. I sent a copy to Larry, our VP of Engineering, to ask him to review one section of the paper where I talked about my employer's business. In a department meeting he mentioned that he had read the entire paper and had given a lot of thought to it. He also asked me to present it to a department meeting in the near future. It was very nice of him to read it and to give me that public recognition. If any of my friends in the software industry would like to see the latest draft, contact me directly, and I will share it with you.

Presenting at PNSQC 2020 Conference

-
I just learned I have been accepted to present a paper at a software testing conference. The conference is the 2020 Pacific Northwest Software Quality Conference. My paper is called  "Generator-based Testing: A State by State Approach". I will be writing the paper and creating an online presentation over the next few months. The conference will be in October, and is normally held in Portland. But the conference organizers told me that they have decided to do the conference online this year. I think that is a great decision under the circumstances. I have been thinking lately about doing more online presentations to grow my career, this could be a great opportunity to learn how to do that effectively.
